450th Anniversary

Malbank School and Sixth Form College

450th Anniversary (1560 -2010)

The last major celebration for the school was the 400th anniversary in 1960. On that occasion the school welcomed a Royal Guest - the Duchess of Gloucester - who presented prizes at the school speech day Friday 18th November 1960. The Nantwich Guardian reported the event and noted that the ‘school of ancient history had turned in to one of the most up-to date in the County, catering for all the widely varying needs of individual children.' Fifty years on the school has continued to evolve changing its name to Malbank School and Sixth Form College but still holding to the principles expressed in that article. In 2010 the school celebrated its 450th Anniversary.
