European Citizens Challenging Education - ECCE

Malbank School prides itself on giving its students and staff the opportunity to form links with schools and individuals throughout the world. As well as our many exchanges and educational visits we have four longer term projects working alongside students and staff from other schools:

ECCE started in 2003. It is a Comenius Project funded by the British Council and the corresponding bodies in Italy and Sweden. It involves four schools:

  1. ITCG Mose Bianchi, Monza,
  2. Italy Parkskolan, Ornskoldsvik, Sweden
  3. Bishop Heber High School, Malpas, Cheshire
  4. Malbank School and Sixth Form College, Nantwich

Our aim is to develop schemes of work and practices in each school that ask our students to think about what it means to be a citizen of Europe. Within Malbank this ranges from experiencing an International Citizens' Day, involving the whole school, to hearing the student voice, through the school's year councils. For convenience we have divided our material on this website into Key Stage 4 and Post 16 but many of the examples apply to both.

Post 16 Material (coming soon)

Whilst the project is still in progress our colleague schools have, at present, their corresponding material on their web sites. These can be accessed as follows:
