ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to the A Level courses available in the traditional Option Boxes, Malbank 6th Form College offers students the opportunity to engage in a variety of additional qualifications and enrichment activities.

In Option K, our Monday afternoon enrichment programme, students can also select to study additional AS Levels in Law, Politics, Critical Thinking and Philosophy.

If further study is not what your son or daughter is looking for, then they can select from a range of activities including: Creative Writing, Jewellery Design, Rock Climbing, School of Rock, Recreation, Web Design, and Work Experience.

New for this year Malbank 6th Form is proud to present the fantastic Future Teachers’ Training Programme.  Run in conjunction with Edge Hill teacher Training College, students will get hands on primary classroom experience and expert tuition on the initial 10 parts of Teacher Training.

Our tailor-made Tutorial Programme supports students from induction into A Level courses, through to university application.  Students can also opt to take AS Citizenship for additional UCAS points.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) allows students at the end of Year 12 to enter into a 120 Hour independent study on an area of specific interest to them.  Completed by May of Year 13, this is an A2 qualification, carrying up to 70 UCAS points (see EPQ brochure for full details.)

Please Note:  Students will make decisions about all of these extra courses once they have joined Malbank.  There is no requirement to select during the course of the application process, which will focus on your main A Level choices.
