SMSC at Malbank Sixth Form

Malbank Sixth Form College is committed to ensuring all students embrace life beyond Malbank and as such develop in terms of their social, moral and cultural awareness during their time with us.

As well as an extensive PSE programme (a link to an overview is supplied below), Malbank pushes students to consider aspects outside of their usual day to day life as much as possible. We ask that all students contribute to the school and or local community through the Freeforall programme whereby students give up an hour a fortnight to support others. This typically comes in the form of acting as extra support in KS3 classes, but also broadens out into the community whereby students routinely volunteer in charity shops and other areas that benefit people other than themselves.

In addition to this, our 1-1 fortnightly Personal Study Mentor (PSM) meetings have an assigned agenda point each week which asks students to prepare for and discuss an issue of topical, moral or cultural significance. A full list of such discussion points can be seen in a link below.
