DofE, Lifesaving and Scout Awards

Daniel Y11 has had serveral reasons to celebrate recently.

Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award.

Daniel has worked as a volunteer lifesaving Coach for over 6 months, teaching life saving skills such as water rescues and CPR to younger children. He has also completed a physical activity, swimming for over a year with Crewe Flyers in their Diamond (top) squad and has completed a skills activity by continuing to learn the guitar. Silver DofE requires completion of an Expedition, so Daniel completed a 3 day practise hike and outdoor camp and finally a 3 day self guided expedition hike through the Lake District while camping overnight.  

 

Life-saving Instructor.

Daniel has been lifesaving for a few years, firstly completing all of the Royal Lifesaving Society UK qualifications then working as a trainee coach. He has recently qulaified as a Lifesaving Instructor and is therefore teaching Rookie Lifeguarding to other children, who are starting their lifesaving skills training.

 

Scouts Platinum award. 

Daniel has been awarded the Scouts Platinum award which requires 6 months membership of Explorer Scouts, 8 nights away from home including 4 campling, leading 2 international sessions for which Daniel presented activities about Italy and Germany, he took part in a community project to maintain the Joey the Swan area of Wistaston with the Wistaston Conservation Society and he previously completed the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award which is a prequisite.
