    Year 7 students were immersed in an engaging micro-scale Harry Potter-themed potions lesson, delving into the intricacies of displacement reactions. Instead of using conventional iron filings and copper as we would normally, the class embarked on a magical journey using dragon whiskers, monster serum and Elixir of life to enhance their learning experience.

  • Year 7 Acids and Alkalis Science Experiment

    Year 7 have been learning about Acids and Alkalis. These photos show the pupils having a 'neutralisation race' - the first team to show the teacher their green, neutral solution was the winner! 

    Some pupils also experimented with making 'rainbows' using acids and alkalis with universal indicators.

  • Year 8 Science Practical

    Year 8 students completed the wonderful rainbow fizz- a practical where we use our knowledge of acids, alkalis and the pH scale to create a rainbow of colour. Not only a fun lab practical but also one that can be repeated at home. Science is observable and applicable in any setting, offering opportunities for exploration and experimentation virtually everywhere.
