  • Help make A&E more sensory friendly

    Published 20/03/24

The Urgent Support Team are spearheading a 'Beyond' funded project for Cheshire & Merseyside. The initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of NHS Paediatric Accident and Emergency Departments in the Countess of Chester Hospital, Wirral University Teaching Hospital (Arrow Park), Macclesfield District General Hospital, and Leighton Hospital for children / young people with sensory and communication needs.

By gathering feedback from young people (aged 0-16) and their parents/carers, we aim to ensure that our project plans are informed by their unique experiences to propose effective and tailored support in Paediatric Emergency Departments. Their role in the project is crucial.

Please see the attached posters for young people/parents and carers, which contain QR codes to our questionnaires and corresponding links.

  • Attendance

    Published 29/11/23

    Good afternoon,

We know that winter is one of the peak times for adults and children to come down with mild illnesses such as colds, coughs and sore throats. We wanted to take this opportunity to share resources with parents on key attendance practices, which aid in making judgements about mild illness, as well as wider guidance:

Is my child too ill for school? - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

The role of the GP in maximising school attendance – BJGP Life

Missing Children, Missing Grades | Children's Commissioner for England (childrenscommissioner.gov.uk)

As ever, if there is any specific support your family needs regarding attendance concerns or worries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the relevant Key stage offices or directly to our Attendance and Welfare officers [email protected].

    Many thanks

    Mrs Machin
